Headlights flashing when idle
 

I have a 92 325iC, and for some reason when the car is at idle, the engine temp needle bobs, the headlights and instrument cluster lights flicker, and the idle goes up and down slightly. Is this a problem with the idle relay????

Sounds like an electrical issue. Put a multimeter on it and see what you voltage is and if it fluctuates. I cant remember what the running voltage is but I guess around 13.5 and it should be static. You may have a bad voltage regulator, a loose connection or bad ground.

Check with the "Solving Electrical Problems" Project in the 101 book - it shows the common locations of the ground straps - sounds like that could be your problem...
