New front brake pads are really tight?!

I just replaced the pads and rotors on my '97 328iC. After bleeding the system and really pumping on the brakes the front pads are still really tight. I can move the rotors, but only just.... Is this normal? If not, does anybody know what I can/should do about it? Thanks for the help!

This is normal. There is actually a very slight amount of wobble in rotors that push the caliper apart while moving away from a stop. When you bleed the brakes and try to turn the wheel by hand, there will be a noticable amount of resistance!

The thing to check is after driving the car, does the rim feel excessively warm? Of course the rims will be slightly warm from the heat of braking, but if the pads are being held against the rotor, it will be almost too hot to touch!

hope it helps!

The rotors push the pads???LOL~~>never heard that one~>actually there is a seal in the caliper that pulls the pads back
can you hear pads scrubbing while driving???Does the car brake straight??? Pull to one side???
