no start, no spark!?

Hello everybody,

I have a 92 325i and my car have not started for a couple weeks now, it cranks and turnsbut it doesnt start. I changed the fuel pump and relay but that did not solve the problem, i checked the spark plugs and they seem fine, but i dont think i am gettin spark....

what could be the cause of this? what should i do??

Thank you!!!

remove one of the coils, leave it plugged in though, then put a known good spark plug in it, have a buddy crank the car, and see if you have spark. Maybe a quick shot of starting fluid in the air intake first to see if it fires off of that. If it does, you know that you have a fuel problem.

it's either fuel or spark. to test for spark, you can do it without a plug, just ground the coil to the engine or suitable ground. i recommend using a spark tester however, as this is the safer, more professional way to do it. you will be able to tell the quality of the spark, if any, by color and brightness. if you have spark, then check fuel pressure (although you've aready replaced pump). if you have no spark, trace backwards and work to the root of the problem where power goes in and nothing or very little comes out.

forgot, if you have good spark, and good fuel pressure, check fuses and sensors....i changed my air filter once and forgot to plug in my afm (mass air sensor in your case) and i looked like an idiot as my car wouldn't start over a stupid plug. you might have some corroded/broken wires or loose connections.
