E36 kangaroos in 1st gear?

Hello to all!

Can someone please help me resolve this issue.

Our E36 318i has just developed a fault.
When I pull away from a standing start into traffic my car bucks and bounces really bad.
Its as if the engine dies then comes back then dies then comes back - I look like a learner driver or something.
Its really bad.
However once driving 2nd to 5th are fine - its just when you set off.

Has anyone seen this before?

Cheers
Richard

Hi - it looks like its my MAF.
When I unplug it the car runs much better (if a little rough).
However the second I plug it back in the car hops and bounces like there is no tomorrow.

Thansk to everyone and I hope this post helps someone else in the future.

Cheers
Richard
