Brake Sensors

Just did an almost complete brake job (pads, rotors) excluding the brake sensors on my '94 E36 325i. Now the ASC light is on and the ASC is not active. I'm assuming that if I go back in and replace the sensors, this will cure the problem. Is it just a plug n play sensor swap that will automatically correct itself, or do I need to bring it to a BMW mech to reset something? BTW, I dont have a code reader.

The brake sensor is just a pad wear sensor and it is not related to the ASC.

The ASC light could be caused by a wheel speed sensor. You could pull the wheel speed sensors and blow them off with air and blow air into the sensor hole.

The dealer could pull the code for the ASC light but I dont know if you can with any consumer tools.

If you do change the sensors at any time. After you fit them switch on the ignition to #2 and wait thirty seconds, then it will be reset.

#7 here:

Make sure to look up your exact car to get the proper part#.

It took me 5 minutes to find it even though I've look one up in the last 6 months. It's not in the first place you would look.
