What are these wires?

1986 325ES - I have a couple of "unattached" wires in my engine compartment on the left side - can anyone tell what they are for and where they are supposed to go? See attached pictures. Thanks, Goosh

Are there any warning lights on your dash that remain on once the car is started? This wire looks like it might be the wire for the brake reservoir fluid level sensor.

Nope - brake reservoir wires are in place - My ABS light is on all the time but all of the others wander from various stages of not working at all to blinking ... I have been told I need a new circuit board, although I replaced entire gauge module with a used one to no effect. Thanks for your help! Goosh

I had the similar problem with my E30's the easiest way to find the fault is with a circuit diagram of the ABS system, find the ABS ECU and test the 4 wheel sensors from there chances are that one of the wheel sensor wires has a break somewhere.
As for the dash module remove the instument cluster and resolder and solder joints that look a bit frosted or cracked that fixed all 3 of my E30's
