89 325I convertable restore
I just purchased a 89 325i convertible for $2000.00 for my son. We have a year to get work on it for his first car.
It runs good, however, I'll be putting it in to get the compression checked as well as other basic functions. It there anything specific anyone thinks I need to check before we start tearing this car down and rebuilding it. I only want to get it to solid running condition. I don't want to have to do any unnceccesary work. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Kh |

Hi kharris
I just finished a lot of rebuild work on my 1988 325iC. Is there anything specific you had in mind ? The whole car is pretty straight forward without too many surprises. My work entailed a new t-belt/water pump, filters, gaskets, new radiator, hoses, t-stat, plugs, O2 sensor,,,, I guess my only one surprise was how much sooty build up there was around and inside the intake manifold. A LOT of build up near the pipe that goes from the base of the block into the lower intake. Happy to answer any questions, - Tc
