Convertible rear panel removal

Hi all new to this forum. Posted this question on the fest but no reply. I decided to replace the plastic trim around the opening that allows the front shoulder strap to retract into the rear panel as it is cracked, however, after removing the rear bench I could not see how to remove the rear backrest. So I decided I might be able to remove the center of the panel that exposes the speakers and gain access through there without removing the backrest. No luck. I checked the bentley manual and 101 projects but neither are clear or do not discuss this. If you are confused on what I'm desribing, then how do I gain access to my rear window in a 328 1998 Covertible. Thanks

I've got that off. That's the center panel , now how do I get the remaining panel off. I can't gain access to the screws that hold the plastic trim, which is what I want to replace around the opening for the seat belt. I thought my biggest problem was going to get the buckle through the hole but apparently not.
