Security System?
 
Is there a reset to the security system or does the system reset after you disconect the battery? (ie shuts down the fuel pump et al other equipment)

Disconnecting the battery should not cause the anti-theft system to shut off the fuel pump. Are you talking about the security code lockout or a BMW alarm system or an aftermarket alarm?

I think it is the security code lock out. The one you need to punch into the stereo.
