Could Use Some Quality Advise & Insight

Hello all, Jerod, I have a 1995 325si coupe black and although everything seems fine I have no getty up and go in the engine. I have an automatic and I am used to manual but for some reason this engine seems to just be void of any really hp or torque. Is there a chip or a kit i could have installed that would add some pep to my "step" of outside of a complete engine swap can anyone identify with this and perhaps share a rememdy with me. If i were to swap out engines where would i look besides a junk yard. ideally for me would be a bmw that was totaled from the rear and engine was completely undamaged. Please if you can lend a hand here i would be grateful

Thanks,

For the time, effort and money to do an engine swap you are probably better off getting a new car.

The 95 325 is not a slow car so maybe you have a mechanical issue. You could Dyno it for $50 to see if the engine is putting out stock hp.

Once you are sure the engine is performing properly then a chip for that car would be a good option. OBD-I chips provide greater gains than the 96+ OBD-II chips. You can also specify an 93 octane chip if you live in a 93 octane area.

Chip

yeah that sounds like a good idea. I have a master mechanic here in Portland but i don't think he has a dyno, but i will talk to him about the sluggishness and see if he can brighten up the hp alittle bit and add some torque. I love those 2 things and my buddie has an m3 and just pulls the tires in 3rd gear and it's awesome that thing has 400+ horsies.... so i'll look for the obd 1 chip then.

Thanks
