				Fuel pump relay
			  anybody know witch relay is the fuel pump relay?  I have a 1994 E36 318I | ||

			This is a surprisingly difficult question to answer.   So far as I was ever able to determine, for my '97s, you have to just find it by trial and error.  They apparently had no particular arrangement that they adhered to for relays. If the relay is currently working, the way you find it is you snap up the back seat and grab the hot wire to the fuel pump. The hot wire is the one that has 12 volts for about one second after you turn on the key, and then goes dead until the car starts. Then start unpluging relays and look for the one with electrical continuity to the wire you have from the back seat. If the relay is not currently working, you need a good wiring diagram that will tell you which color wire is the hot wire to the fuel pump. | ||
