Outside temp sensor for heat&air

The information center says -35 degrees every time I start my 93 325. I understand the outside sensor may be missing or damaged.

The sensor is supposed to be mounted to the LF air duct for the brakes. Big pieces of the duct and undertray are missing. Anybody know the exact location and wire color for the sensor.

I found the fog light wiring hanging and there is another set of wires hanging in the same area...could the sensor have gotten torn off during and autocross or something?

Thanks,

Mark

Outside ambient temp sensor

Mark,

On my three it located under the left front bumper area, usually in the brake air inlet. The wire is black, go figure. I've always seen it split off of the wire going to the horn that is under the fender, behind the bumper. The connector sort of looks like an oxygen sensor connector, round but with only 2 wires connecting, split half moonish. Look up the part in pelican, they have a nice pic.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Black wire it is

Thanks for the info, especially the black wire. The undertray and brake duct were toast when I got the car and I have about four wires dangling in the area where I thought the temp sensor should go.

Now I can work on hooking a temp sensor to the black wire (after I check for current) and use the wiring diagram to i.d. the fog light wires.

Mark
