325 muffler

Anyone have any good suggestions for an inexpensive replace aftermarket mufler for an e 36. I have good welding skills, and dont mind a little fidgeting around to make things work. It is just that the distance from the two muffler inlet pipes makes retrofitting another muffler seem quite difficult.
Thanks for your help
Fred

It just seems like whatever little money you would save with an after-market muffler would be wasted in your time retrofitting it. Not to mention, it would probably sound like crap.
