Lightbulb funky dash action

Just bought my 95 M3 a couple of weeks ago. Intermittently, the dash will turn on and off again like the key was just turned off and on again, happening with no pattern that I have seen yet. The car does not shut off however.

I also noticed that the Alpine (installed before current ownership) will flicker when the dash dimmer switch is turned all the way up, possibly a voltage thing.

Any insight, previous experience, and other forms of help are appreciated.

I've had several problems with corrosion and cracking of the printed circuit on my 88 325ic. Caused various dash things to stop working, without affecting the engine. Last time the tach stopped working under 4000 rpm. All it took was cleaning some contacts.

sounds like it could be grounding out someplace or just a loose connection someplace
