E36 Air Pump Failure
Hello Gentlemen,
Secondary Air Pump stopped working and coded out on OBD. Replaced the pump and nothing. A couple a questions on where to go from here. 1. If the valve is also bad will the pump not function. 2. Where is the fuse or relay located on 328i 3. Can you test the pump outside the car. I'm thinking the first might not be bad. Appreciate any help on this one. Wally |

Anybody else running into this issue, the car must sit and be a complete cold start where the O2 sensors must be cold. Started this morning and the pump worked fine. I wasn't used to hearing a quiet pump so I had to listen close.

I would start with the relay.
The relay is supposed to be in the main distribution box but it is not listed there in Bentley.
