BMW E36 Head Gasket problem (intake manifold)

Hey guys, i drive a 1994 BMW e36 318i and i'm a second year apprentice mechanic

I'm trying to replace the head gasket on my car, and everything is off except the head and the bottom half of the intake manifold (it comes in half)

The problem i'm having is that the bottom half of the intake manifold is stuck on some black box thing, with heaps of wires going to it. does anyone have:
a) A diagram or where all the wires go for when i'm putting it back together and/or
b) Any idea how to remove this box to get the manifold off? i'm out of ideas
