BMW Roundel Stopping imobiliser on a 1991 e36 318is

Hi i just changed the battery on my 1991 e36 318is, when i go to open the bonnet or car door or boot the immobilizer goes off. I dont have an alarm on the car it is the manufacturers standard. I am wondering is there a way of stopping the immobilizer.

Thanks alot!!

There should be a code for the on board computer the unlocks the immobilizer.
It should not lock you down just because you changed the battery though.
e36 was not available in the us in 1991, and UK versions differ sometimes.
Just like US versions don't have bonnets and boots, and the only screens we have keep out bugs. LOL
We wear our boots, and some of us might even put on a bonnet.
But, nobody I know.

Seriously,
If you don't have an owners manual to tell you how enter the code, I can scan my 1993(s) page.
The dealer will have to get the code number for you.

yeah but I bet you don't spread vegemite on yer sangers!

on a quiet day I can hear my wife's ford falcon rusting in the garage, - but that's another story.

I had same problem with my e30, in the end I had to get the immobiliser removed as the car wouldn't start after I disconnected the battery. It wasn't a standard alarm though.
