Unhappy Sunroof stuck

Ill start with the good news. The sunroof is out of the car in my garage. Now lets move on to the bad. The sunroof is stuck at the very back and will not move. For those of you who know what it looks like, the little white stopper that prevents the sliding cover to go back too far is about 3 inches out of the bracket that its supposed to be in.

I was taking it out to do the sliding cover and the headliner in some synthetic suede. Long story short I ended up with the sunroof (after putting the cover back on with new suede, which looks tits by the way) misaligned with the sliding cover. It is stuck in one position and will not move no matter how much force is applied.

Those that have done this before, please help with any hints or ideas on what I should do to get the thing moving. I am seriously considering a sunroof delete at this point..
