Engine Problems SMOG

1992 325i
The computer got wet from a drive through car wash causing it to run rough.
I took off the ignition coil and the coil from cylinder 3 it had exploded part of it was popped out. I replaced it and the car ran good.
I'm trying to get my car to pass smog buying new cats used M3 muffler new O2 sensor, and spark plugs feeling good that it would pass after all I just installed on the car I went and smoged it FAILED !
So I put my car up on the rack and noticed that under and around the exhaust manifold #3 there was alot of seeping oil wet and dirty. I pulled the plugs the #3 plugs looked Brand new its getting no juice to make spark.
I took the intake manifod off and inside #3 there is small coat of oil around the valves I can see.
Quesions
1 : Is this oil around the exhaust and inside #3 just from the cylinder not firing or is it from a bad piston and rings ?
2: computer ECU is bad due to the car wash
3: Is it time for a rebuild or buy a new coil

Also how can I tell if my engine has VANOS ? 1992 E36 4 Door

a 92' m50 did not come with vanos..

Can you post your smog results? NoX,CO ect.... and at what rpm/mph? Which part did you fail? idle lite load or heavy load? If you can scan the results into a acrobat doc it would be helpfull.. thanks

Jake
