328i -1998 reset brake & airbag lights
anyone know how to reset the brake service light on 1998'--- 328i-----I also need to reset airbag light ,thankyou.

I always forget and have to look it up, but I THINK that resetting the brake light involves turning the key to the run position (don't start the car) and leaving it for 90 seconds.
For the air bag, the only way I know is with the SRS tool. Costs about $150 from Peake, or if there is a BMW club in your town, someone who owns an e36 is bound to have the tool. e36s set their SRS lights all the time for little or no reason. Only takes 10 seconds to reset. |
