how to remove obd display?

tried the tech article on this, but appears to be for E30 not E36, as there was no way to reach from behind and push this out as indicated when remove glovebox.
Does this remove from the front? really nervous to crack it or mar the bezel surround.
All I want to do is remove it since the clock/date no longer display - only see when in direct light - but are working. Bought the bulbs to resolder onto back, but can't figure out how to remove the thing.
Anyone do this before?

4 screws hold it in, 2 underneath and two behind the warning and speaker switches the top row of switches can be popped out to get at the screws. find the one that is a little loose and once you have one out you can put your finger behind the remaining switches and push them out. you can then see the small screws holding the top in. the obd computer is held in by 4 screws also

Here are pictures of removing the computer from an e36

There are no screws, and the lights just screw in to the clock/display
