Replacing the guibo and CSB on my 97 M3/2/5 and have hit a wall.
101 projects, the Bentley and Haynes manuals, do not cover how to do this on a car with a driveshaft like mine. They only cover what appears to be 95 M3's and non-M cars, the shafts with the snap ring and locking collar at the CSB. My car has the single bolt in the U-joint mating F and R halves together. Does anybody know what the torque spec is on that bolt, if it's one time use, and if it's reverse or standard thread? The CV joint at the diff flange is the 6 bolter, do those bolts need to be replaced as well? I know the nuts do, but not the bolts. TIA |

My car had the same type of driveshaft assembly. The bolt is standard right-hand thread. Not sure how you could get a torque wrench on it with the u-joint in the way. The only thing I was able to fit in there was a box end wrench, but it worked nicely.
