In this article Pelican parts mentions getting a dual-mass flywheel resurfaced; however I can not find a location that will do this. In fact most of these places say that it is not possible. Is this true? |

So far as I know, you can cut up the glaze by manually sanding the surface a bit, but you cannot machine it flat like you could with a conventional flywheel.
On a 16 year-old car, you might want to consider replacing it as a preventative maintenance measure even if it is not chattering yet if you intend to own the car for a long time. |
