Leaky Little Tranny Panny, Common Issue?

Hey all, on my 94 325i, the auto tranny has 2 pans. The main big one with the drain plug, and a smaller 12 bolt one just ahead of it.
Well I changed the gasket on the little pan/sump, with a genuine BMW dealer gasket, new bolts included.

I did all the proper prep work, cleaning both mating surfaces, and reinstalling with proper torquing of the new bolts.
But it still leaks quite a bit. Just wondering if this is a cronic issue? Or should I just use a gasket compound, like "The Right Stuff"?

Do I use gasket sealer, like red silicon, on the used/wet gasket? Or use a new gasket? Or do I just toss the gasket and use the silicon?

Thanks

I would never re-use any old gasket (asking for trouble). I would install a new gasket and silicone as well.

From my reading he used a new gasket and bolts which is great. But you're almost guaranteed to have a leak if no gasket sealer, as Yurick is mentioning.
