Which shift knob can I use when installing new short shifter

Hi all...
I was wondering... If I choose to install a E46 325xi shift lever on my 88 325is, when selecting a new shift knob, are there differences between E30 and E46 shift knobs? Can I still buy a shifter boot and knob one piece? I would like to stick with a bmw knob.

Thanks to all who reply...

YES....

Here's a link for you, very well written and illustrated.

YES thank you. I believe I asked too many questions but I assume you mean I can still buy a one piece. Based on the site you linked me to, I would say all of the levers look the same at the top where the knob goes...although the one on my E30 was totally different... the lever came in two pieces.
