Hi my car is getting a roar noise coming from the rear. It sound to me like a driver side rear wheel bearing ,but I am thinking it can be a carrier bearing for the drive shaft. I am getting a wobble at very low speed also . I also notice thumping noise coming from under the shifter in the morning when its cold ,and my car idling low . I check the guibo ,and it looks ok . I got so many problem on my 94 e36 conv 325 please help and reply to andrewyang651@gmail.com

The thumping noise does sound like the guibo connector failing and hitting the shifter linkage. I would take a closer look at that. Wheel bearings can be detected by wiggling the wheel when the car is up in the air. Differential carrier bearings are more difficult to diagnose, you typically need to disconnect the diff and spin them by hand to see if they are free, or if they are wearing out. I've got a neat article on changing wheel bearings, it's written for the Porsches, but the principle is the same for BMWs: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/40-TRANS-Wheel_Bearings/40-TRANS-Wheel_Bearings.htm ]http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/40-TRANS-Wheel_Bearings/40-TRANS-Wheel_Bearings.htm [/url]
