The car will typically tell you if there is a problem, check the codes using the tech article I wrote here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/Mult-Code_Reading/Mult-Code_Reading.htm If the mixture is off, or an O2 sensor is faulty, the codes should show it.
