Hi i have a 1998 BMW 328i convertible and yesterday started the car and opened the roof. it opened quarter way and stop working. i then pulled the lever in order to pop the motors and manually close the roof. the i tried to push the motors back and couldn't until i manually connected another battery to spin the motor in order to push it back into place. now the roof is closed and when i press the button nothing works at all no noise at all just a red light flashing continually. i have also disconnected the battery and then reconnected it and still nothing happens. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP URGENTLY PLEASE.

Right - there is a semi-complicated factory procedure to reconnect the roof to the mechanism after you pull that emergency lever under the seat. In addition, the roof needs to be adjusted and synchronized with itself. I haven't done it myself, but I have heard it's not a five minute job. I would take the car to someone who has done this before and let them snap it back together.
