Hi,
I am looking to get a 1998 328i Auto with 78K miles. The service records show a tranny issue shifting from 1-2. Then later it was fixed by a dealer through a local tranny shop. My friend test drove the car and found it to be running great. The rebuilt tranny comes with a 1 yr warranty. Should I go for this car? __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Pelican Technical Article: BMW Automatic Transmission Fluid Change |

BMW transmissions can be a bit fickle. If the car drives fine, then it's probably okay. Still, I would have liked to know what the problem was so that I could figure out what the likelihood of it returning was.
