I have a 1986, 528e that will not spark from the coil or plug wires. The is battery voltage on both primary and secondary termainal of coil. A bit of history: prior to removal of the cluster panel for nicad batteries replacemnt, the car ran just fine. Now it will not start. I thought this car would run with the cluster panel installed However the alternator would not function.}. I can't help but believe the no start condition is somehow related to removal of the cluster. Please, someone work their magic for me.... thanks

Hmm, this an odd one, I'm at a loss. The only thing I can think of is that somehow your crank angle sensor got disconnected or dislodged. Not sure how that would happen though.
