Indicator light came ON and sure enough when i went to drive off When the car shifted to Second it jerked and a thump noise was heard in the back of the car only on Second nothing else wrong just the Second gear... Does anybody know if by doing this it could solve my problem or shoud i start saving to replace the whole thing????? Oh by the way my car is a 96 328i

This article only refers to shift bushings on a manual transmission. The bad news is that it sounds like your automatic transmission is on its way out, and you might need to rebuild or replace it.
