Was doing a UUC kit install but got stalled because my transmission did not lower when I loosened the brace...jack would drop but tranny didn't. I didn't want to force it.

Car's a 99 M Coupe. Suggestions??

I'm not too familiar with the M Coupe for that year. You might want to try removing the joint that connects it to the driveshaft.
