1993 318 iE36 m40 Manual motor just back from workshop I confess when trying to refit the alternator bracket which I removed 4 weeks ago it wont fit ( please stop laughing ) are there 4 spacers behind the plate or is there a square spacer with 4 holes to line up with the 4 threaded holes on the side of the block. I dont really know what Im looking for as bmw workshop manual wont open up on my system. Can anyone remember please as this is embarrasing . Help please

I really don't know. Try all the variations of the bolts/washers...??

Post the link for the manual and see if someone else can open it and help...if I can I will.
