Low coolant light
I have a 2001 325 xi. The coolant expansion tank was leaking so I purchased one from Bavarian Auto Sports and installed it. All went well except that the low coolant warning light remains on. Someone told me the OEM low coolant sensor does not always communicate with the float that slides up and down the sensor well inside the aftermarket tank. Any one else have this problem? any ideas?

Try unpluging the sensor and jumping it out. If it is like mine it is easy to do. My sensor has a switch encased in glass that senses a magnet in the float. Had to replace it twice. not expensive and easy to change. you can also put a continity tester of some kind on the sensor to see if the contacts are closed with the tank full to the line.

Bav Auto parts suck. I bought bad tie rod ends from them. I dont even get there catalog anymore. You can get the parts here for a more reasonable price

your problem, OP, is that you bought something from Bavauto
in any event, buy a new sensor and put it in |
