No Heat

1999 BMW 323i.
I have a problem with the heater blowing only cold air from the front vents. The Blower is on and when i switch to windscreen/defrost it will blow warm air.The temp gauge needle is halfway and the coolant Level is OK.
Any thoughts.
Thanks
Ray.

At the risk of insulting you, you do have the temperature thumbwheels turned to the red side, correct?

I once pointed out to my daughter that only cold air was coming out of her dash on her '97, and she reached up and rolled the thumbwheels and then looked at me as though she were wondering how long it would be before she would have to put old Dad into 'the Home'.
