Starter Problems E46 M3 Race car conversion

I recently stripped my 2001 E46 M3 interior converting it to a race car (NASA GTS3/4). I’ve stripped everything but left all the wiring intact. Now, the car will not start. The clutch proximity switch is in place. The solenoid clicks when I try to start car but the starter doesn’t turn. Everything worked fine prior to stripping the car. Is it coincidence and did the starter fail? I’ve tried reconnecting the various switches thinking there might be a shared ground or something I overlooked. The fact I can hear the solenoid click tells me the wiring, etc is ok and the problem is probably the starter. Found a good DIY link for replacing the starter if anyone is interested: Intermittent Starting Issue-Complete DIY-Starter Replacement (Intake Removal) - BMW M3 Forum.com (E30 M3 | E36 M3 | E46 M3 | E92 M3). I prefer to avoid this and hoping all you smart guys might have some ideas that I have overlooked . I’ve tried a new battery. Not being able to get to the starter I do not know if it is getting full voltage. That’s the obvious next step.

Have I overlooked anything obvious? Would an alarm permissive allow power to the solenoid but not the starter itself? Seems unlikely.

Open to all ideas......... Thanks in advance
