Question Window and Door stopped working

Hi all, I have a 1990 325i. For some reason my left rear window just stopped working and soon after that the door would not open.

The window started acting up about a month ago...it would work intermittenly and then last week I just couldn't open it anymore. So, I tested out the switch and it worked fine on the other windows and I also tried the other switches on that particular window but nothing happens. It doesn't even light up.

The door also stopped working on me a couple of days ago. At night I usually lock the car using the "unlock inhibit system," pulling the key out while in the horizontal position from driver door. In the morning I unlocked the car and noticed that the left rear "lock button" did not pop up....so i tried to open the door both from the outside and the inside to no avail. The handle on the inside can't even be moved...so, I took apart the door interior trim, unbolted the "door lock actuator," and was able to finally open the door. After that, I tested the actuator on the other door and it was still working. So, I'm assuming that maybe the whole left rear door is just not getting any power? Where do I start, please keep in mind I am not the most knowledgable in this area and that all the other windows and doors function perfectly fine.......any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If it had been the driver door, I would suspect that the wire through the door sill had fatigued and broken. This often happens with the wire to the trunk lid. However, I would really be surprised to see this happen with a rear door because they are so rarely used.

Next step is to remove the door panel and make sure that the plugs in the door are secure.

Alright Manolito, I'll check out the plugs. And by the way I'm not too familiar with how all the fuses and relays are set up but if it were any of these things would the other windows and doors also be affected too?

Thanks
