200 4 325i - brake lights

I have a 2004 325i and the problem is when you turn off the engine the stop lights are still on. When the engine is on the brake lights are normal - step on the brake pedal the lights will be on and when you released the brake pedal the lights go off, but as soon as you released the pedal and turn off the engine, the stop light will stay on. I unplugged the brake light fuse and the stop lights are still ON, but when the engine is running and unplugged the brake light fuse the lights are off. Please help!
