Carfax report doesn't match car?
I was interested in purchasing a bmw325xi wagon i saw on an online ad from a used car dealer. On the back of the car, it shows 325xi and they've advertised it as an AWD and told me on the phone as well. I asked the car dealer to fax me a carfax report, and the Carfax shows that it is a 325iT and the drivetrain is REAR WHEEL DRIVE.
I think the Carfax report would be correct right, and possibly someone changed the badge on the back of the car from i to xi? Any thoughts? This dealer is 120 miles away, so i'm not going to drive out there if it really is not AWD because I'm looking for All Wheel Drive wagon. |

Go to realoem.com and enter the VIN number. It should tell you exactly what model it is.

I checked it out "ET43119" and it shows that it's an xi. So does that mean Carfax is not accurate?
I called BMW too and they told me it was an xi too. I thought Carfax was a reliable source... |

CarFax is just a third-party database, which relies on input from other external parties. I would not read too much into information CarFax provides.

Well, i'm going to drive 120 miles to see (and hopefully buy if all checks out) this car, so if i get there and it's a RWD, then that's going to be a major bummer, because I want an AWD. |
