I bought a 1996 BMW 328i and the power window works on the driver side, but when I push the switch for the passenger side window nothing happens with no sound. The same problem with the automatic lock switch.

Sounds like it may be related to power to the door. One way to check the window switches is to swap the left and right switches and see if the problem follows the switch.
