e36 no spark, no fuel, no reading from computer?
Hi I have a 1995 BMW 325is and it will crank over but it will not start. Here is what i do know...
No Power to the Fuel Pump No Spark No communication with the computer The problem happened all of a sudden. i drove to a friends house, parked (it was raining) came back four hours later and it would not start. took it to my work the next day to trouble shoot and i was getting no power to the fuel pump and i was getting no spark at all. Checked fuses and relays and they are all good. after doing research a lot of people have problems with the crankshaft position sensor and that has been replaced and the problem continued. Took it to a family retired mechanic for help and he cant get any reading when he plugs is computer into the car. DME problem possibly? can get a used one for around 20 bucks at the BMW recycling guys. any ideas before i start throwing parts at the problem? one again no fuel, no spark, no fault codes / reading out of computer, new crank position sensor. Any help would be great im in desperate need to get back and forth to college! :( Thank You for Your Time, Justin :) |
did you check to make sure you have power at the main relay? you need to diagnose the problem systematicaly starting at the source and eliminating as you go.
