2000 323i reset onboard computer after battery loss
 

Had a battery go dead, replaced with a new one.
ON BOARD computer did not reset correctly.
Engine runs in limp mode. ( Starts, running rough ) Dashboard system lights on )
HOW do I reset or is this a dealer item?


Also where can I get the radio security code

radio codes
 

usually they are on two business card size cards on a page in the back of the Radio section of the Owners Manual provided by BMW with every car. If you do not have the OM or code card a Dealer may be able to provide the information from the VIN. Some dealers tape a copy to the top of the radio. (though defeating the purpose of the code!) Small tabs on either side of the radio hide small Allen key type bolt, just unscrew them and slide the radio out of the dashboard.

The only other option is to replace the radio.
