i ahve a 94 325i and when i got it iwas told the alternator was no good so i replaced it with a new one,all wires are hooked up right,i drove it to work and on the way home the lights got really dim and the car dyed like the battery was dead, with the key on all the lights are bright but when i went to turn it over it just clicked,i had the new alternator tested and its fine,i was told to check all my ground wires, all the fuses are new and the battery isnt more then 6 months old but its a deep cell battery,i wa also told it could be the battery or a bad ground, does any know anything about or has had this same problem

According to my Bentley manual wiring diagram, on an '04 325i, the alternator ties to the heavy lead on the starter, so if you have battery-to-starter connection to crank the starter, you should have alternator-to-battery connection.
Is the heavy lug on the back of the alternator 'hot' (12 V)? If not, then there is a bad connection between there and the starter. Many vehicles have a fusible link beween the alternator and the rest of the system, but I don't see one on this diagram, just the big main fusible link next to the battery. |

I have had batteries drive me crazy on my 93. I have had to replace them way before I should have to. Then I have had some last 5 or 6 years.
Did you have them do a load test on the battery? They do it for free.
