Jammed door lock with motor, HELP!

I have a 2000 328ci, and yesterday I went to replace my door handle because it had been tough to open for a while. Recently it had actually got stuck so badly that both my wife, and I got stuck on occasion. My buddy and I went ahead and checked the rest of the parts involved with the door itself. We discovered that the Door lock with motor ( part number 51 21 8 208 711 ) had play in it, and we knew it was going bad. We adjusted the arm so that it rested against to handle to try an take some of the play out. We were successful, and the door was opening and closing great. Then we got everything put together and I closed the door, then I locked it. That was a mistake, I am pretty sure we seized the lock and now I can't get the door open. The lock on both doors will unlock and lock, and they are actually working much better, but the driver side door won't open. I've spent most of the day trying to figure out how to get the door back open so I can replace the entire Door lock and motor.
Any ideas??
