Now I'm getting a clock timer, starting at 15 minutes and counting down? I hope it doesn't self destruct at the end..

The radio code is five digits, but it is not written anywhere on the radio or in the car. That would defeat the purpose. You have to take the serial number off the radio to the dealer and have them look up the code if you don't have the card that came with the car.

If you key in the wrong code, you have to wait with the radio powered and turned on for it to time out before you can try the code again.

Nothing you do with the radio will keep the car from starting. There are two separate things going on.
