96 328i wont stay running

the car was running fine and then last week I ran through some high water, and the air filter got wet as well as god knows what else and the car won't stay running anymore. I replaced the air filter, as well as giving it time to dry out. Now everytime I try to drive the car it will start and idle and then slowly die chugging the whole way. If I blip the throttle it will rev up and then fall in Its face and everytime I blip after that it'll just bog more and I if I hold the throttle down and try to rev it itll just hit a wall and slowly starts to Peter down and after a few attempts it just dies upon startup. I really have no idea what it could be, though someone mentioned vacuum hoses possibly being damaged and I've read on here about the DME getting wet but haven't tried that out yet and I was looking for some advice. I believe the car is ok mechanically.
