hi guys help me pls my bmw 320i automatic is losing oil just above the sump what can it be theres a small transmision pipe running in to the gear box help please

The oil cooler lines do run from the trans to the radiator and they can leak from there. Clean the area and use a flashlight to find the source of the leak.

My '97 has leaked from the seal where the shifter shaft enters the tranny since about 2003. I have to drop the valve body and some other stuff to get to the seal on the inside, so I am waiting for a tranny rebuild to do it. Long wait.
