I'm buying a 1992 BMW 320i from my brother and he tells me that the car is great but everytime he comes to a stop with the car it shuts off on its own. I was wondering if anyone knew why this happened.

It could be a vacuum leak, a bad throttle posisiton sensor or a bad idle speed motor. I would check those things first
