Hi There
Brilliant site you have here. I have a 1994 318is Coupe. I have a problem where, when driving the coolant temp is at 12, but as soon as i stop in traffic it starts to rise rapidly. As soon as I start to drive or keep the revs at 2000rpm it goes down again. Also the heaters inside the car are constantly cold, it used to blow a little warm then go cold, then warm again, then cold, but now its just cold. I have been told to try bleeding the system first as it could be an air lock or similar. I will do this but do you think this could be thermostat and/or waterpump and is it worth replacing them or could this be head gasket? I hope not :/ Thanks Jamie __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |

if it cools off when moving, this means airflow is helping the engine cool off. First check operation of your cooling fans. If gthe fans are working normally you may have a faulty water pump.
