Wrong Engine???
 

I bought my wife a 1999 323ic as a pleasure car. In great shape, but needed tweaking. Has the ubicuous oil leak at the rear valve cover corner so I ordered a new seal kit along with plugs etc.
The seal that was shipped is nowhere near the seal that is installed. It has 4 half moons and is larger. The box says it's correct.
Bought one for the 1998 engine and guess what?? It is the right one. What's the reason and am I goinmg to have to replace parts with 1998 stuff??
